“THE GREAT SHEPHERD”

She explained she found it while going through tons of old birthday cards, pictures, and so many other things collected over 50 plus years. I need to do the same thing.

After much searching, I could not locate the author Who wrote this lovely description of hugging. I hope you enjoy it as well. It was not in a book, just a loose piece of pink paper. It seemed appropriate to share considering we are in the middle of a pandemic. I miss being hugged. I miss giving hugs to my family, especially to my granddaughters.

HUGGING (author unknown)

“Hugging is healthy: It helps the body’s immunity system, it keeps you healthier, it cures

depression, it reduces stress, it induces sleep, it’s invigorating, it’s rejuvenating, it has no

unpleasant side effects, and hugging is nothing less than a miracle drug. Hugging is all

natural; it is organic, naturally sweet, no pesticides, no preservatives,

no artificial ingredients and 100% wholesome.

Hugging is practically perfect; there are no movable parts, no batteries to wear out, no

periodic checks, low energy consumption , high energy yield, inflation-proof, non-

fattening, no monthly payments, no insurance requirements, theft-proof, non-taxable,

Non-polluting and, of course, fully returnable.” ———-————————————————————

How appropriate for our current state of living these days. I have no clue when or who

wrote This nugget of gold. Perhaps it will motivate all of us to be mindful of the true

meaning of a hug. I compare it like being hungry for something you love. It continues

bothering you until you quench its desire.

The human touch cannot ever be replaced by any material thing on this earth.

Romans 16:16 - “Greet one Another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ greet you.”

ESV

Luke 15:20 - “And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off,

his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him.”

1 Peter 5:14 - ”Greet one another with the kiss of love. Peace to all of you who are in Christ.”

2 Corinthians 13:12 - Greet one another with a holy kiss.”

‘Luke 7:45 - You gave me no kiss , but from the time I came in, she has not ceased

to kiss my feet.”

Luke: 7:50 - “Jesus said to the woman, “your faith has saved you; go in peace.”

I hope you can find time to read these scriptures individually. Christ was a loving person.

I believe he greeted everyone the same way, with love and a hug.

No matter how many times I have read Christ’s holy scriptures, they take on a new

meaning. That comes simply from growing in Christ, along with aging and experiencing life.

I do know this, when the time comes, and it will, I wait impatiently to

hug each one of my children and grandchildren. I am so tired of these AIR HUGS! They do

not get the job done! Until then peace of the Lord be with you, and we all said Amen!

Do send me a note. I would be delighted to hear from you. I find it enriching to hear how

others have been blessed during these times.

Just as sure as the sun rises in the East and sets in the West, I assure you Christ will be with

us in every step we take.

How do I know, you asked, because the Bible tells me so! That‘s good enough for me.

I hope you can check out my book, Sweet Tea & Jesus. It is available at Amazon.com
